Tula’s Institute holds workshop on Sustainable Development & Climate Change

Tula’s Institute, in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Science Education Research Centre (USERC), Government of Uttarakhand, organized a two-day workshop titled ‘Sustainable Development and Climate Change: A Step to Strengthen Research & Understanding’.

The workshop, aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of climate change and promoting sustainable development practices, was brought together by esteemed experts, researchers, and students from various fields.

The program was graced by the Director of USERC, Professor Anita Rawat, as the chief guest, and the Senior Scientist at USERC, Dr. Bhavtosh Sharma, who served as the session expert. Professor Anita Rawat emphasized the significance of sustainable development in combating climate change.

The workshop was divided into two sessions, each focusing on different aspects of climate change and sustainable development. The first session delved into the importance of biodiversity in climate change and sustainable development, featuring distinguished speakers including Ex. Scientist-E (Joint Director) Botanical Survey of India (BSI) Dehradun Dr. Harish Singh, Scientist, Forestry and Climate Change Division, Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC), Dehradun Dr. Gajendra Singh, Scientific Advisor (Honorary), Plant and Environment Research Institute (PERI), Kanpur Dr. Omesh Bajpai, and Assistant Professor, Department of Environment Science, Graphic Era Deemed to be University Ashish Kumar Arya.

The workshop also focused on agricultural methods and practices for sustainable development, with notable speakers including Former VC of NDVSU, Jabalpur Dr. PD Juyal, Director of the Plantica Foundation Dr. Anoop Badoni, and the Principal Scientist & Head ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation Institute, (ICAR-IISWC), Dehradun Dr. Muruganadam.

“The workshop provided a platform for meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange on crucial issues related to climate change and sustainable development,” said the Director of Tula’s Institute, Dr. Sandip Vijay.

The program was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Sugam Gupta and Kanchan, with the presence of the Director of Tula’s Institute Dr. Sandip Vijay, Dean of Academics Dr. Nishant Saxena, Dean of R&D Dr. Sunil Semwal, and Research Coordinator Dr. Tripuresh Joshi.
