Olympus High Hosts Workshop to Strengthen Parent–Teacher Partnership

Dehradun, 7 July 2026: Olympus High organised a teacher training workshop on the theme ‘Educating Parents for Better Parenting’ within the school campus today. The workshop aimed to equip educators with practical tools to strengthen communication with parents and foster collaborative partnerships that support the overall development of children.

The session was attended by Managing Director Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla, Principal Dr. Anuradha Pundeer Malla, Vice Principal Archana, coordinators, and the teaching faculty from the Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle, and Senior Wings.

The workshop was conducted by a renowned Psychotherapist and Counsellor. Aditi Arora, associated with Sigmund Freud University, Vienna. Drawing from her extensive experience in counselling, educator development, and student well-being, she shared practical insights on the evolving role of teachers in guiding parents and nurturing emotionally resilient children.

Through interactive discussions, case studies, and communication-based activities, participants explored effective parent-school engagement strategies, active listening, empathetic communication, emotional intelligence, positive discipline, conflict resolution, and constructive feedback. The session also encouraged teachers to view parents as active partners in a child’s educational journey.

Speaking during the workshop, Aditi Arora highlighted that parents are a child’s first teachers while schools serve as their extended families, and that children flourish when both work together with empathy, trust, and shared purpose.

Managing Director Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla appreciated the initiative and reiterated Olympus High’s commitment to creating a strong learning ecosystem by empowering teachers to build meaningful relationships with parents. He emphasised that effective parent-school partnerships are instrumental in shaping responsible and confident future citizens.

Principal Dr. Anuradha Pundeer Malla noted that today’s educators play a vital role beyond classroom teaching by acting as mentors who bridge the gap between school and home. She stressed that effective communication with parents has become an essential professional competency for every teacher.

The workshop concluded with an interactive reflection session where teachers shared their key takeaways and discussed practical approaches to implementing the learnings in their day-to-day interactions with parents.
