UCOST signed a MOU with Agastya International Foundation to Launch
“𝐌𝐮𝐤𝐡𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐚”

The Uttarakhand State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Agastya International Foundation to inaugurate the Mukhyamantri Labs on Wheels Yojana in Uttarakhand. This pioneering initiative, initiated by honorable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, aims to provide laboratory facilities to students residing in border areas of the state where such resources are scarce.

The “𝐌𝐮𝐤𝐡𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐚” is designed to serve to all 13 districts of Uttarakhand. Currently, the scheme is operational in four districts, bringing the benefits of hands-on scientific experiments and experiences to students who previously had limited access to practical resources. In its second phase, the initiative will expand to cover the remaining districts of the state, ensuring that every corner of Uttarakhand benefits from this innovative program.

Under this pioneering scheme, mobile laboratories equipped with biology and chemistry experiment, offering students hands-on learning experiences. Each laboratory will be accompanied by a trained mentor, who will facilitate engaging experiments and provide guidance to students.

The “𝐌𝐮𝐤𝐡𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐚” holds tremendous promise for enhancing the quality of science education in Uttarakhand, particularly for students residing in remote and underserved areas. By bringing laboratory facilities directly to their doorstep, the initiative aims to ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and inspire a new generation of innovators.
