Keeping in view the security during the rainy season, the administration has banned movement on Rishikesh-Badrinath, Rudraprayag-Gaurikund, Kund-Ukhimath-Chopta-Mandal-Gopeshwar Highway and Gangotri-Yamunotri Highway from 8 am to 5 am. Only emergency and military vehicles will be allowed to move.
Due to rains, stones falling on the highway and link roads, landslides and landslides being activated, vehicles will now ply on the highway and link road only from 5 am to 8 pm. Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Dr. Vishakha Ashok Bhadane told that on last Saturday at eight o’clock in the night, a passenger vehicle had left for Rishikesh from Sonprayag which met with an accident near Gular. Information has been sought from all barrier points about how and at what level the vehicle was allowed to go at night.
On the other hand, the Uttarkashi Disaster Management Officer said that the administration has banned the movement of any type of vehicles on the main highways including Gangotri and Yamunotri Highways from eight in the night to five in the morning. Only the movement of emergency and military vehicles will be smooth.
