Dehradun: The Aryan School celebrated India’s Independence Day with a ceremony that brought together patriotism, performance and purpose, honouring not just the nation’s freedom, but the young minds carrying its spirit forward within the school premises today.
The celebrations began with a rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag by Principal B. Dasgupta and the singing of the National Anthem.
This was followed by a series of motivational speeches delivered in both Hindi and English, reflecting on the sacrifices behind the nation’s freedom. The powerful line, “Tiranga hawa se nahi, shaheedon ke khoon se lehrata hai,” resonated deeply with the gathering, serving as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices behind the Tricolour.
The event further featured vibrant dance performances celebrating the colours and culture of the nation. The tiny tots of the school performed on patriotic and popular songs like ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘Jahan Daal Daal Par’, adding innocence and energy to the celebrations. This was followed by a choir performance.
Bringing the celebrations to a close, Principal B. Dasgupta addressed the gathering with her inspiring words on the significance of the National Flag, explaining how each colour of the Tricolour carries deep meaning, with saffron symbolising courage and sacrifice, white representing peace and truth, and green reflecting growth and prosperity, while the Ashoka Chakra at its centre stands as a timeless reminder to keep moving forward with righteousness and progress.
She further emphasised that the children of today are the architects of tomorrow’s nation, and that true patriotism lies in living with honesty and integrity, upholding truth in every action, and respecting and protecting the country’s environment for generations to come.
