A meeting of the Admission Committee of Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University for the 2026-27 academic session was held at the Centre for Academic Activities, located within the Chauras Campus, under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shri Prakash Singh.
During the meeting, the University’s Academic Calendar was approved. It was decided that the admission process for undergraduate courses would be conducted through the CUET, while a University Entrance Test (UET) would be organised for postgraduate courses; the process for the latter is set to commence shortly.
Additionally, a consensus was reached to initiate the process for the Ph.D. entrance examination soon. In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP), one-year postgraduate courses will be introduced in the upcoming session for those programmes in which students are currently pursuing studies in their fourth year; seats for these programmes have also been allocated. The roster for Ph.D. seats was also approved during the meeting.
Keeping the health of the students in mind—and in compliance with the directives of the Government of India—a decision was taken to implement mandatory health check-ups starting from the upcoming academic session. A committee will be constituted for this purpose to ensure the effective implementation of this system across all campuses and institutes, in collaboration with the hospitals and medical practitioners empanelled by the University.
