SPIC MACAY hosts Rajasthani Folk Performance by Bhutte Khan Manganiyar & Group

 SPIC MACAY presented a mesmerizing Rajasthani Folk dance performance by the renowned Bhutte Khan Manganiyar & group at The Presidency International School, The Doon School, Doon International School Riverside Campus, Universal Academy and The Doon Girls’ School, receiving widespread acclaim.

The performance included a soul-stirring rendition of a bhajan dedicated to Krishna, followed by a vibrant Swagat Geet on ‘Kesariya Balama Padharo Mare Desh’. Additionally, folk dances like Kalbeliya, Bhawai, Ghoomar, and Terahtali added to the charm of the program, leaving students speechless with their high-energy renditions and authentic portrayal of Rajasthani spirit.

Hailing from the culturally rich region of Barmer, Rajasthan, Bhutte Khan Manganiyar is not only a highly skilled performer but also a dedicated promoter of folklore. Over the years, he has collaborated with hundreds of folk artists, showcasing the vibrant traditions of Rajasthan to audiences worldwide. His notable appearances include performances in Coke Studio and the groundbreaking ‘DHAROHAR’ initiative, which brought together folk artists from India and abroad. Notably, he was part of the grand performance during India’s Independence Day Celebration in September 2007, held in Russia.

Students who attended the performance were deeply moved by the experience, with one student stating, “Bhutte Khan Manganiyar’s performance was truly captivating. It was like stepping into a different world, filled with the rich tapestry of Rajasthani culture and traditions.”

Tomorrow, on 7th February, the group is scheduled to perform at the Doon International School, Riverside Campus.
