Hezbollah Commander Killed by Israeli Strike in Southern Lebanon

ABU DHABI—An Israeli strike killed a senior Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon on Monday, ratcheting up cross-border tensions during a Middle East visit by Secretary of State Antony Blinken that seeks to prevent a broader war and discuss how the Gaza Strip will be governed after the fighting there ends. 

Hezbollah said a senior commander, Wissam Hassan Al-Tawil, was killed in an Israeli attack on a village in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military said jet fighters struck a series of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon after a missile was launched toward several areas in northern Israel.
