A second powerful volcanic eruption sent lava surging through an Icelandic town, engulfing houses and leaving them in flames.
Lava flows from the eruption, which started at around 8 a.m. local time on Sunday, breached the barriers protecting the town of Grindavík, the Icelandic Meteorological Office said on Monday.
