0834 GMT – Metal prices are mixed as market watchers await U.S. CPI data this week for more clarity. Three-month copper is 0.2% lower at $8,417 a metric ton, while aluminum is down 0.1% at $2,234 a ton after recent LME data showed rising inventories. “Investors are awaiting the inflation print on Thursday, which we expect will bring more volatility to the base metals complex,” says Daria Efanova, head of research at Sucden Financial. Gold is instead up 0.2% at $2,038.20 a troy ounce, as traders keep a close eye on signals of interest-rate cuts. (giulia.petroni@wsj.com)
