Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday alleged that the shoe hurled at party leader Swami Prasad Maurya at an event was on the instructions of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The former UP CM called it a conspiracy by the saffron party to spoil the event and disrespect a big leader of the backward community. “The conspiracy to spoil this event and disrespect a big leader of the backwards community was done on the instructions of BJP and the government,” Yadav said.
“Those who talk about zero tolerance, what sort of zero tolerance is this where anyone barges at someone’s event and humiliates them,” he said while speaking to reporters in Lucknow.
“The backwardness that is prevalent today is the result of social conspiracy. It’s a long fight but we need to be cautious of BJP’s conspiracy,” said the SP supremo.

On Monday, a shoe was hurled at SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya after which the OBC leader’s supporters thrashed the man during an event held in Lucknow.
The man posed as an advocate and threw a shoe at the SP leader following which, a crowd full of Maurya’s supporters started pulling and beating the man during the OBC Sammelan which was being held here.
The workers also shouted ‘Swami Prasad Maurya Zindabad’ slogan while slapping and kicking the man.
Maurya claimed that the person who hurled the shoe was an office bearer and a worker of BJP.
“He belongs to the Yadav community but he is a BJP office bearer and worker. Such people are a blot to the rule of the law and that is why the law and order of the state is in shambles,” Maurya told news agency ANI.
