Kangra painting is the art of Kangra, named after Kangra used in Himachal Pradesh (India). It became prevalent with the Basohli school of painting in 18th century and produced a magnitude in paintings both in content as well as volume also, one of the Pahari painting school, came to be known as Kangra paintings.

The Kangra artists adopted various shades of the primary colors. For instance, they used a light pink on the upper hills to indicate distance. Kangra paintings depict the feminine charm in a very graceful manner. And it also explains facial expressions very softly. And also the female figures are beautifully painted.
