The conference commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Kanchan Khandke, Principal of École Globale International Girls’ School, as the Chief Guest. Raman Koushal, Principal of Tulas International School, along with Sanjay Sharma, Vice Principal, and Dr. Varinder Kaur, Headmistress – Middle School, were also present on the occasion.
The inaugural ceremony began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by vibrant cultural and musical presentations and the one-act play ‘A Glitch in the Timeline’, which creatively blended history, humour and modern technology.Addressing the delegates, Kanchan Khandke spoke on the conference theme, “Global Power Politics in the Age of Disruption.” She highlighted the importance of empathy, consensus-building, peace, justice and human dignity, reminding students that they are not merely leaders of tomorrow but changemakers of the present.
Raman Koushal, in his opening address, emphasised the significance of dialogue, cooperation and responsible leadership in an increasingly complex world. He noted that future-ready leaders must develop collaboration, ethical decision-making, emotional intelligence, adaptability and resilience to navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing global landscape.
Following the formal declaration of TISMUN 2026 open by Secretary General Annika Gulabdas, delegates participated in intensive committee deliberations, engaging with a diverse range of contemporary global, national and simulated issues. The conference featured committees including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), International Press, IPL Mega Auction, Breaking News Crisis and the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).
Beyond debate and diplomacy, TISMUN 2026 also placed emphasis on the holistic development and well-being of its participants. A dedicated Mental Wellness Session encouraged delegates to reflect on emotional well-being, resilience and the importance of maintaining balance while navigating academic and personal pressures.
The conference culminated in a valedictory ceremony graced by Seema Sharda, Principal of Vantage Hall Girls’ Residential School, Dehradun, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony featured the musical presentation “Waving Your Flag” and a meaningful play, “The Unsung Heroes”, which celebrated the contribution of the often-overlooked members of the school community.
Addressing the gathering, Seema Sharda appreciated the enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the delegates and organising team. She emphasised the importance of quality education, empathy, respectful dialogue, critical thinking and responsible leadership, encouraging students to have the courage to speak, the humility to listen and the wisdom to understand diverse perspectives.
Towards the end of the program, the awards ceremony recognised delegates for excellence in diplomacy, research, negotiation, creativity and leadership. Advay Kapoor of The Doon School received the Best of the Best Delegate Trophy, while Vantage Hall School was awarded the Best Delegation Trophy.
Students of Tulas International School also delivered performances across committees. Riddhi Agarwal received a Special Mention in the International Press – Caricature category, while Shrensh earned a High Commendation in COPUOS, bringing recognition to the school through their creativity, confidence and commitment.
Among the committee awards, Rudraksh was adjudged Best Delegate in UNSC, Krishna Chaturvedi in UNODC, Prachi Dhawan in UNHRC, Bhavyata Thapliyal in International Press – Journalism, Ashmit Singh in Photography, Aarunya Bhatia in Caricature, Yash Arora, Arnav Singh and Luv Goyal in IPL Mega Auction, Sanjay Saraf in Breaking News Crisis, Advay Kapoor in COPUOS, and Jai Agroria and Puranjay Singh Rana in AIPPM.
Both Chief Guests, Kanchan Khandke and Seema Sharda, were felicitated by Raman Koushal in recognition of their presence and inspiring contribution to the conference.
The conference was formally declared closed by Deputy Secretary General Tanmay Jangid, followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by Akshara, Head Girl of Tulas International School.
TISMUN 2026 was coordinated under the guidance of Sandeep Dutta, Convenor of TISMUN 2026, along with the efforts of the organising team, faculty members, Secretariat and student volunteers.
