Dehradun: The much-anticipated Vande Bharat Express train linking Dehradun and Delhi is scheduled to begin operations on 25 May. This was recently announced by CM Pushkar Singh Dami on his Twitter account.
The state-of-the-art train is expected to significantly reduce the travel time between the two cities to just four and a half hours, making it the fastest option on the rail route from the state capital to Dehradun. Currently, there are six trains running between the provincial capitals: Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, Uttaranchal Express, Mussoorie Express, Dehradun Indore, Ujjain Express and Nandadevi AC Superfast.
Chief Inspector General (Ticket Officer), announced that the Vande Bharat train will start at 11am on May 25 and will run daily.
The opening ceremony will be officiated by Minister of Railways Ashwini and CM Dami at Dehradun station.
Indian Railways has yet to release train timetables and fares.
Station Master Shashank Sharma said: “The train will terminate at Delhi’s Anand Vihar railway station and will take 4 hours and 30 minutes.
