Dehradun: The World Integrity Center (WIC) India, Dehradun, marked Hindi Diwas with an Inter-School Debate Competition within its premises today. Six schools including Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Pine Hall School, Jimp Pioneer School, IT Children’s Academy, Him Jyoti School, and Srijan Public School participated in the program.
The debate was judged by freelance Hindi teacher Sangeeta Rawat and Monika Sharma, HOD of Hindi at Sunrise Academy. Renowned psychologist and researcher Oshin Rawat graced the event as a guest.
Students debated on the topic, ‘When money speaks, truth becomes silent’. Each student argued both ‘For’ and ‘Against’ the motion.
At the end of the program, the winners were announced, and a tie was established for first place between Deepika from Jimp Pioneer School and Vash Sahu from Pine Hall School. The 1st Runner-up position was awarded to Priya Sahu from Srijan Public School, while the 2nd Runner-up position went to Bhumika Rawat from Him Jyoti Academy.
Appreciating the efforts of all the students, the judges said, “We were highly impressed by the caliber of the speakers today. Each student brought their unique perspective to the topic, demonstrating not only good command over Hindi but also critical thinking skills.”
The Directors of WIC India Ankit Aggarwal and Sachin Upadhyay said, “Organizing such competitions aligns with our mission to provide a platform for young minds to express themselves. Hindi Diwas is a special occasion to promote our rich linguistic heritage, and we are proud to host an event that fosters thoughtful discussion and intellectual growth.”
The program also saw dance performances by the students of Small Bells founded by Namrata Naithani.
