Story of a Kerala Entrepreneur: Oh Boy! What an Enterprising Tale!

There is a reason why this entrepreneur, TNM Jawad is making headlines, after all, he is one of the most inspiring entrepreneurs in current times. This guy started a web designing enterprise at 17, made it a multi-crore IT firm within 5 years that now deals in 20 countries, well, he is an inspiration.

When WittyFeed talked about what it took for him to become an influencing entrepreneur at such a young age, he responded, “Age is just a number.”

They say curiosity is the mother of invention. Jawad is a

genuine example.

A journey begins with a stepping stone. For Jawad, it was a computer with an Internet connection that his father gifted him while he was in the fifth standard.

One day, while surfing through websites, Jawad became curious and wanted to know how it works. To learn more, Jawad began researching on blogs and how a site is created. He came across various free website building tools and made his first blog about his city, Kannur.

“When I was in 10th, I started the company virtually with just a domain name and a website. Later in my 11th, I set up my office with two people,” TNM Jawad said.

never comes easy, right?

Interestingly, Jawad’s full name is Muhammad Jawad TN. But when his father made his first Gmail ID, the name wasn’t available, and Google suggested TNM Jawad.

“From that moment onwards, I started calling myself TNM Jawad,” Jawad shared while talking to WittyFeed.

Over time, Jawad realised how companies are doing business by creating websites for clients. He took his father’s credit card and bought his first domain, TNMonlinesolution.com from BigRock. “That is how the journey of TNM Online Solutions began.”

Just like a film, with all motivating songs playing in the background, Jawad used Facebook as a platform and began promoting TNM Online Solutions.

“I created the website in a free website creator as I did not have enough knowledge to create a professional website with all the coding and stuff. I had no one to guide me initially. If I had anyone by my side, I would have started coding from the sixth-seventh standard.”

Are you ready to take risks to succeed? Well, Jawad was & forever will be.

Jawad started his virtual website and soon got his first client, who was none other than his teacher. But soon things took a different turn. When Jawad’s father returned to India after facing financial issues in Dubai, he knew it was time for him to take a stand for his family. He started looking for web designing companies in Kannur and learnt how they worked by standing outside their office.

“I went to my father and asked if he could give me the last amount he had. I had plans to set up my office. I told him, I have hopes that this business has some good future in Kannur.” His father agreed, and he then set up his office.

Learning never stops. If you have taken up a subject, make sure you know everything about it.

After setting up his first office, Jawad realised that he now needs to learn how to build a professional website. He joined a computer academy and it was during this period that Jawad and his two friends inaugurated his office in June 2013. Clients began to come, and TNM Online Solutions started coding for them at an initial cost of Rs 2,000-5,000.

“I used to get free from my school at 5 pm and then go to the office. I have also seen days when I was short of money to even give the salary, but my mother always stood like a backbone. I didn’t earn any profit for most of the time, but for me, that time was all about building a strong portfolio,” Jawad said.

“Anyone could go to Kochi and become famous, but I wanted to do something from my small town of Kannur.”

One must believe in himself/herself. Yes, you gotta manage all the expenses, all the crisis, but don’t let it pull you down.

From IT minister of Kerala to the chief minister of the state, Jawad got support from many personalities for his hard work, while he was in his 12th. After a year passed by, Jawad and his firm were in a stable condition, and he had been able to take care of family responsibilities.

Interestingly, when Jawad planned to buy a house and approached a bank for a loan, he realised that a 19-year-old cannot get one. He was annoyed.

He also recalled the time when he couldn’t get a seat in college because he did not have money, even though he was an excellent student in school. People close to him advised him to quit his office and get back to studies.

“All these rejections, they raged a fire inside me. I wanted to prove all of them wrong.”

“I worked day and night. I was so blessed that in just six months, after the home loan got rejected, I was 19 and I bought a house on my own without taking a single penny from the bank,” Jawad told WittyFeed.

“I love my failures. Wherever I am today, whatever I have achieved, it is because I always loved my failures.”

There have been various setbacks even after Jawad’s company became stable. He lost an office set up in Bengaluru, multiple products were rejected, but one of the two things that never changed was Jawad’s love for his failures.

“I want to fail more so that I can learn more because I have no teachers from the college who gave me a theory to life.”

Another thing being Jawad’s love for his family, and that is the one thing that should never change as well.

Jawad bought a BMW for himself while he was 21. (Now he has plans to buy a Lamborghini) He now has a team of 30+ people working for him in Kannur.

Entrepreneurs like Jawad stand as motivation for each one us who believe we are either too old or too young to do what’s needed.
