The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are taking on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad picked up two wickets in one over and brought the team back into the contest.

The eighth over was bowled by the left-arm spinner, with Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane at the crease. The wrist spinner delivered a tossed up ball in his first delivery to the left-hander, and the batter came down the pitch to slog it away. The batter gets beaten, and the ball rolled to the wicketkeeper, MS Dhoni. The CSK skipper managed to whip the bails off before the West Indies cricketer got back into the crease.

The fourth ball of the same over was pitched on the outside off to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and the youngster poked the ball to get an outside edge. The veteran keeper took the catch and sent back the right-hander to the pavilion. In the end, the left-arm bowler picked up four wickets in his four-over spell and gave 31 runs.

KKR batters scored 179 runs in their 20 overs with a cumulative batting effort from most of the batters as they lost six wickets in the process. KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane scored 48 off 33 balls was the high-scorer of the first innings. Sunil Narine (26 off 17), Manish Pandey (36 off 28) and Andre Russell (38 off 21) contributed their part to take the hosts to a decent total.

The five-time champions have already been eliminated from the IPL 2025 and will try to find their rhythm for the next season. KKR are fifth in the points table and will aim to win the match in front of the home crowd. This win will increase the chance for the playoffs’ qualification.
