The SA20 auction and rookie draft for the third edition will take place on October 1 in Cape Town. High-profile international cricketers such as Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson, Dinesh Karthik, Liam Livingstone, Rashid Khan among others have already joined different franchises and now nearly 200 players are up for grabs in the auction.
Among big names at the auction are Shamar Joesph, Joshua Little, Naseem Shah, Dasun Shanaka, Kamindu Mendis, Tony de Zorzi and South Africa captain Temba Bavuma. A total of 115 South African players are part of the list.
As per the rules, each squad must have 19 players, including a minimum of 10 South Africans, a maximum of seven international players, a rookie, and a wildcard player. As things stand, each franchise, except Joburg Super Kings, has announced their wildcard player. They have time until December 30 to finalise their picks.
The third edition of the tournament will kick off on January 9 and will collide with ILT20, Big Bash League, and Super Smash.
