Lets Begin The Preparation

Parwal (Potol Mishti) Sweet 
Bengoli Sweet Karigiri
Pointed Guard, commonly known as ‘Parwal’ is very similar to cucumber. It is used for making number of dishes, of which this sweet is one!


Parwal- 2 cups
Mawa- 2 cups
Sugar- 1 cup
Milk Powder- ¼ cup
Green Pistachios – ¼ cup
Almonds- ¼ cup
Cardamom Powder- 1 teaspoon
Saffron Strands


Make a coarse powder of almonds and pistachios using a mixer.
Next, peel the Parwals and slit them vertically.
Put them in boiling water. Leave them for 2-3 minutes.
Now, drain the water and make sure there is no water remaining.
In a pan, roast the Mawa so that it becomes light pink in colour. Keep stirring.
After it cools a bit, add the nuts powder, cardamom powder and saffron. Now, stuff this in the slit Parwal.
Prepare the sugar syrup with sugar and water. Immerse the Parwals in this syrup for 2-3 minutes.
Remove them and keep them on a mesh. Once they cool, you can cover with silver foil.
Serve at room temperature.
