He described the scene as deeply emotional and tragic, as the student, who he said was speaking in Haryanvi, protested his treatment. The student, he said, asserted that he was not mentally unstable, countering claims allegedly being made by the authorities.
“This poor guy was speaking in Haryanvi language. I could recognise his accent where he was saying ‘में पागल नहीं हूँ , ये लोग मुझे पागल साबित करने में लगे हुए हे’,” he added.
According to Jain, this is not an isolated incident. “These children get their visas and get on a flight in the morning. For some reason, they are unable to explain the reason for their visit to the immigration authorities and are sent back in the evening flight tied up like criminals,” he stated.
