Gujarat Titans (GT) have resumed training following the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan after cross-border tensions between both the countries escalated and caused the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season to be suspended midway. The IPL 2025 had been suspended for a week after Pakistan violated Indian airspace and launched drone and missile attacks, prompting organisers to halt the tournament. However, with tensions easing on Saturday, talks are now underway to restart the competition.
While no official confirmation has been made from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the tournament could be resumed by May 16 (Friday) or May 17 (Saturday), as per ABP News sources.

Amid ongoing uncertainty over the IPL’s resumption, Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans returned to training with an extended nets session on Sunday evening (May 11).
According to Cricbuzz, Gujarat Titans’ net session on Sunday lasted over three hours, beginning around 5:30 PM and continuing until nearly 9 PM. Team and Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) officials confirmed that key Indian players like Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj took part, along with overseas stars such as Kagiso Rabada and Sherfane Rutherford.
“They were to disperse today but with the announcement of ceasefire and talk of an early resumption happening, they decided to stay on in Ahmedabad,” Cricbuzz quoted GCA and GT members as stating.
With 16 points from 11 matches, Gujarat Titans currently lead the IPL 2025 standings and are eyeing a Top 2 finish to strengthen their playoff position.

Despite the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, the Pakistani army breached the pact within hours by launching attacks on several locations along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC), including Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir, as well as areas in Punjab and Rajasthan.
Before the interruption, 57 matches had been completed in IPL 2025. The 58th match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamsala on May 8 was called off after just 10.1 overs.
Twelve league matches and four playoff games remain. As per the original schedule, Hyderabad was set to host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, while Kolkata was allotted Qualifier 2 and the Final.
