8 Killed In Firecracker Manufacturing Unit Explosion In Andhra Pradesh
In a separate incident, eight people were killed and six others injured in an explosion at a firecracker unit in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district on Sunday. According to police, the blast took place at Kailasapatnam in Kotlavuratla Mandal, completely gutting the unit. At the time of the explosion, 14 workers were present.
Eight individuals died on the spot, with some bodies charred beyond recognition, officials confirmed, as per news agency IANS. Locals who heard the loud blast rushed to the site and assisted in transporting the injured to a nearby hospital. They were later shifted to King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam, where the condition of two victims is reported to be critical.

Govind (40), Devara Nirmala (38), P. Papa (40), G. Venubabu (34), D. Ramalaxmi (35), Hemanth (20), and S. Baburao (55). While five of the victims were local residents, the rest had migrated from nearby villages.
Minister Anitha announced a compensation of ₹15 lakh for each deceased individual and directed officials to ensure the best medical care for the injured. “A probe has been ordered into the incident. Action will be taken against those found guilty,” she said, as reported by IANS.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh expressed shock over the explosion. The Chief Minister spoke to the Home Minister, District Collector, and Superintendent of Police for updates on the tragedy.
District Collector Vijayakrishnan confirmed that an investigation was underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion. He also met with the families of the victims and offered his condolences. The bodies of the deceased were moved to hospitals in Anakapalli and Narsipatnam.
