Understanding dividend types

A final dividend is declared after the full-year results are out and after the Annual General Meeting (AGM), whereas an interim dividend is declared somewhere in the middle of the year, normally post the quarterly or half-year earnings.

Special dividends, like the one declared by IndiaMART InterMESH (Rs 20), are one-time dividends that can be paid out over the regular dividends. For this special dividend, an investor is required to own the shares before June 6, 2025, which is both the ex-dividend as well as the record date.
