
Amid the ongoing escalation between India and Pakistan, the Delhi Authority has issued a direction on Thursday barring officers/officials of the Government of NCT of Delhi from taking any leave, till further notice.

On the other hand, tensions have escalated across Pakistan, with sirens now blaring in major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, and Bahawalpur. The sound of sirens has triggered widespread panic among residents, further exacerbating the already volatile situation following India’s recent drone strike on Lahore and the downing of a Pakistani AWACS aircraft.
Earlier, in a swift retaliatory response to escalating cross-border excursions on Thursday evening, India launched a drone attack on Lahore. The attack follows a series of drone strikes by Pakistan in Rajasthan and other border areas, leading to heightened security alerts in India’s border regions.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has held a conversation with the Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), sources told ABP News. The discussion focuses on the current security situation amid escalations, after Operation Sindoor, sources added.
Amid this, the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, talked to the External Affairs Minister of India, S Jaishankar, on Thursday. The secretary expressed US support for direct dialogue between India and Pakistan and encouraged continued efforts to improve communications.
Rubio also reiterated his condolences for the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to work with India in the fight against terrorism.
