Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board has issued standard operating procedure (SOP) for Char Dham Yatra which is scheduled to begin from July 1. In view of the coronavirus threat, the Uttarakhand government has decided that only the residents of the state will be allowed to go for Char Dham Yatra. Char Dham is a collective term used for pilgrimage centers of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

The people residing in containment zones and quarantine centres within Uttarakahnd will also not be allowed to take part in the pilgrimage that attratcts lakhs of people every year.




Char Dham Yatra: Standard Operating Procedure

    • E-Pass is valid for the darshan at the temple during the visit to the shrine.
    • E-pass is applicable to the residents of Uttarakhand.
    • If any person has symptoms of coronavirus like, breathlessness, cough, fever, he/she should avoid visiting the shrine and also refrain from applying fo re-pass.
    • The validity of the yatra passes will expire in 2 days
    • Once the pilgrims visit the temple, yatra e-pass will be nun and void.
    • Pilgrims should register at https:badrinath-kedarnath.gov.in for the e-pass.
    • Applied Yatra e-pass will only be applicable for the visit to the shrine and can’t be used to visit any other places nearby except.
    • Pilgrims should avoid meeting an elder person (above 60 years) and minors (below 10 years) during their visit to the shrine.
    • During the visit to the shrine, pilgrims should follow the COVID-19 advisories of central/state governments. The devotees should practice social distancing and wears masks during the yatra.
    • During the visit to the shrine, if a pilgrim has a problem of breathlessness, cough and fever, he/she should immediately contact the administration.
    • Pilgrims should wash their hand and foot with soap before entering the temple.
    • Pilgrims will be provided with hand sanitisers at the entrance of the temple. ‘
    • Pilgrims are strictly advised not to touch any idols, during the visit to the temple.
    • Pilgrims have also been asked to upload ID proof, photo of the applicant, and medical document if they are suffering from any chronic disease or had gone through quarantine period under COVID-19 guidelines or had tested for coronavirus.
    • The devotees will also have to mention their travel history of one month while applying for the e-pass.
    • Temple authorities can amend the guidelines without any prior notice and can refuse the pilgrims from allowing to enter the temple premises.
